1-General Information and Definitions
The courses will be conducted through the Distance Learning System (UES), which is managed by the Marmara University Center for Distance Education Practice and Research. The Distance Learning System is a web-based software application that enables the management, documentation, monitoring, reporting and publication of educational programmes. UES supports various uses, serving as a platform for online content in both simultaneous and part-time classes. UES can offer class management for teaching conducted by our faculty or mixed teaching used in our university. The lessons you will be giving are defined in the BYS. Teachers can follow the details of their courses at UES from BYS. The course you will be teaching at UES must be enabled by the Student Affairs of your unit or by the Chairman of the Department/Main Science Department of BYS. Instructors can enter the UES whenever they want. However, Virtual Classroom sessions are only conducted live on the day and time specified in the curriculum, with simultaneous participation of teachers and students. The time of all users logging in and out of the system, the progress of the classes they registered in, the duration of attendance to Virtual Class sessions, and the time of subsequent monitoring of these sessions are recorded by the system. Information on compulsory attendance is covered by the M.U. Pre-Bachelor and Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulations and the Procedures and Basics Relating to Distance Education in Higher Education Institutions. Decisions concerning interim examinations, all measurements and evaluations made at the end of the semester or during the semester can be followed from the announcements in our university's Academic Calendar http://takvim.marmara.edu.tr/ , institutional website, Student Affairs Department's President's page https://oidb.marmara.edu.tr/.
